Working with Employers
NOCN works with employers, from micro businesses and SMEs to large corporates across a wide range of sectors including major high street banks and retailers, to create 'skills and knowledge products' which meet their needs. These products include:
- Vocational Qualifications - awards, certificates, diplomas
- Functional skills maths and English
- Endorsements of employer training
- Consultancy services
Using a flexible, responsive, partnership approach, NOCN works with industry experts including employers, trade bodies, sector skills councils and training providers to develop products that fill skills gaps, helping employees become more productive and increasing business profitability.
Only by listening to employers and working in partnership to create the best solution can effective products be created. Nothing is set in stone in the development of new qualifications, standards or assessments because each organisation and industry is different.

The Government introduced the Apprenticeship Levy on 6 April 2017. The levy requires all employers operating in the UK with a pay roll over £3 million each year, to invest in apprenticeships.
For employers to be able to justify the investment in time, resource and money of offering apprenticeships, they need to be able to guarantee that they will have an impact on both their commercial and social goals.
