ICT Units in NOCN Progression Qualifications
Use of Information Technology is an essential part of life for most people, and an increasing requirement for many forms of employment and current jobs. The NOCN Progression Qualifications contain ICT units at every level that can be flexibly combined to create courses that develop ICT skills in a variety of contexts.
At Entry 3 Level the units are bite-sized and mapped to the QCA Standards for Adult ICT Skills. They can be delivered in many different ways to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners.
NOCN Progression Qualifications at Levels 1, 2 and 3 now contain the e-skills uk ITQ units as optional units. These units map directly to the e-skills uk IT for Users National Occupational Standards and can form part of the evidence to complete the e-skills Passport. The units can be put together in combination with core NOCN Progression Qualification units to make up a full NOCN Progression Qualification, or delivered as part of a NOCN approved course or learning programme.
Funding
The units can form part of a full NOCN Progression Qualification, and are eligible for LSC funding. In addition, e-skills uk has agreed with the LSC that priority funding in 2008-09 will apply to all units and qualifications within the ITQ Framework. For further information on funding for NOCN Qualifications and units please contact your local Open College Network (OCN).
