On Tuesday 6th October 2009 NOCN hosted a lunch for its stakeholders at Sheffield College, aimed at initiating a strategic exploration of “ How do we realise the potential of the QCF to contribute to the Skills Agenda?”.

Yes, it’s that time of year again when we start thinking about celebrating the achievements of UK adult learners. NOCN and Regional OCNs are keen supporters of Adult Learners week and next year NOCN will again be supporting the Outstanding Achiever Award.

NOCN welcomes the recently launched Learning Through Life: Inquiry into the Future for Lifelong Learning.
This is the main report resulting from a two year long, all embracing inquiry based on the following terms of reference:
…to offer an authoritative and coherent strategic framework for lifelong learning in the UK.

The inquiry was commissioned by NIACE and chaired by Sir David Watson, Professor of Higher Education Policy at the University of London Institute of Education.
The report is both inspirational and practical and is the result of evidence gathered from across the UK.
