The Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF): The QCF is a new framework for recognising and accrediting qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The National Qualifications Framework (NQF): The NQF sets out the levels against which a qualification can be recognised in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The National Qualifications Framework contains ‘live’ qualifications up to 31^st December 2010, this is being replaced by the QCF.
