Operational Update on NOCN Group Qualifications and Services

NOCN Group offers a wide range of services including regulated qualifications, EPA for apprenticeships, Job Cards in construction, Access to HE Diplomas, bespoke accreditation and educational and skills support training.

You will find out more operational detail on the implications of COVID19 for each of these services, including advice for students and centres preparing for external assessments, through the following links:

Please note that NOCN will be following the guidance issued by the ESFA, IfATE, Ofqual, CCEA, QAA and Qualifications Wales, and will update our customers as things change.

If you have any concerns or would like to discuss the impact on your centre, apprentices or learners please contact us on nocn@nocn.org.uk or 0300 999 1177 (Option 1).

Working to support our valued customers

You will be aware of the various Government and World Health Organisation (WHO) announcements and official advice over COVID19.
The situation is unprecedented and has been continually changing. With colleges and schools now closed and the country in effect ‘locked down’, other than essential services, we will endeavour to continue to support you, your apprentices, learners and card applicants through this difficult period.

We support Ofqual’s statement that the most important principle is fairness to all learners and apprentices, not only for those being assessed now, but also for those assessed before COVID-19.

Centre Support

All our staff are working from home, so we are still offering front line support, through telephony, email and web chat as usual.
Certificates for regulated qualifications and cards are being issued to centres in the normal way.
We aim to provide as full a range of our services as possible, where these can be delivered remotely, and we can use remote or recorded assessment methods, whilst maintaining the integrity of the assessment.
All face-to-face appointments for approval visits, External Quality Assurers, and external assessments have been suspended until training centres reopen and normal business resumes.
We are providing digital on-line support, including offering WebEx interviews, developing online invigilated exams in place of physical papers, and digital content support.

Please contact us to discuss how best we can support you on nocn@nocn.org.uk or 0300 999 1177 (Option 1).

Best wishes from all at NOCN to you our valued customers. We hope you all remain safe and well.

Legal, Financing and Accounting Assessors

NOCN is the market leading provider of apprentice End Point Assessments in England, appointed to assess more apprenticeship standards than any other provider.

Closing Date
31/3/2020
Salary
Freelance contract

NOCN is Government-registered, and truly independent to ensure robust and accurate assessments of apprentices.

The Standards

We are now looking for suitably qualified people to become freelance contracted End Point Assessors, for the following Apprenticeship Standards:

• Advanced Credit Controller/Debt Collection Specialist
• Senior Compliance/Risk Specialist
• Financial Services Professional
• Investment Operations Specialist

The role of our End Point Assessors is to assess an apprentice’s competence and knowledge against the industry specific standards.

Support

NOCN will provide training sessions for all our End Point Assessors through a variety of training methods such as webinars, briefings and updates which will ensure that they are kept up to date with qualification requirements and quality assurance procedures.

Role Requirements

To be considered, our End Point Assessors must have;

• A thorough knowledge of their occupational area which includes a minimum of 5 years experience along with a relevant, industry qualification
• Recent experience of their chosen occupational route which demonstrates industry competence
• An assessor qualification (Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment, Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement, A1 or D32/D33)
• Familiarity with the role covered by the apprenticeship
• An understanding of the qualifications within the apprenticeship

It would be desirable for our End Point Assessors to hold an Internal Verifiers Award (IQA Award – Level 4) qualification to enable them to moderate other assessors' assessment decisions but this is not a pre-requisite for these roles.

Additional Requirements

Our End Point Assessors will have excellent communication, organisation and planning skills in addition to good IT skills and be competent working with online reports.

Ongoing maintenance of their own Continuing Professional Development (CPD) will be required so that NOCN are confident their competency is up to date, in line with qualification requirements.

Time Commitment

It is difficult to make an accurate assessment of time commitments until we know more precisely the number of apprentices that will be requiring End Point Assessments. However, we are asking EPA Assessors to commit to a minimum of around 35 days per annum, if possible, which will include attendance at standardisation events.
Whilst some assessments will need to be conducted at employer or training provider premises, some of the work will be carried out remotely, which should make it easier for EPA Assessors to fit in their assessment work around other commitments. We are also appointing on a regional basis, which should minimise unnecessary travel time when carrying out on-site assessments.

To apply, please send your CV with a covering letter, stating why you are the best person for the job, with recent examples of how you meet the key requirements of the role.

Send this to: eparecruitment@nocn.org.uk

In the case that there are no immediate suitable opportunities to match your particular experience, NOCN will keep applications received on file for 24 months until suitable vacancies arise.

If you are applying to assess more than one apprenticeship, please state this in your application and demonstrate your occupational expertise for each one.

NOCN Group is a Disability Confident Employer formally known as ‘Two Ticks’. This means that if you qualify as disabled under the Equality Act 2010 and you meet the minimum criteria outlined in the job specification, we guarantee you an interview.

Contract rate of pay

Please note, these are freelance contracted positions. The rate of pay will vary according to the nature of specific contracts, for example based upon the number of standards, sectors and levels.
