Job Summary

NOCN is the market leading provider of apprentice End Point Assessments in England, appointed to assess more apprenticeship standards than any other provider. NOCN is Government-registered, and truly independent to ensure robust and accurate assessments of apprentices.

We are now looking for suitably qualified people to become freelance contracted End Point Assessors, for the Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Standard.

The role of our End Point Assessors is to assess an apprentice’s competence and knowledge against the industry specific standards.

NOCN will provide training sessions for all our End Point Assessors through a variety of training methods such as webinars, briefings and updates which will ensure that they are kept up to date with qualification requirements and quality assurance procedures.

Role Requirements

  • Understand the occupational standard and assessment plan
  • Appoint independent assessors who have recent relevant experience of the occupation/sector gained in the last two years or significant experience of the occupation/sector. This should be at least at the same level as the apprenticeship standard.
  • Hold or Working towards assessor qualification

As a proud member of both Disability Confident and Inclusive Employers standard, we celebrate and recognise the benefits of equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. As such, we welcome and encourage applicants from all backgrounds, and should you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate

Apply

To apply, please email your CV to eparecruitment@nocn.org.uk with the standard name in the subject title and also complete and send the Equal Opportunities Form

Additional Requirements

Our End Point Assessors will have excellent communication, organisation and planning skills in addition to good IT skills and be competent working with online reports.
Ongoing maintenance of their own Continuing Professional Development (CPD) will be required so that NOCN are confident their competency is up to date, in line with qualification requirements.
It would be desirable for our End Point Assessors to hold an Internal Verifiers Award (IQA Award) qualification to enable them to moderate other assessors' assessment decisions but this is not a pre-requisite for these roles.

Time Commitment

It is difficult to make an accurate assessment of time commitments until we know more precisely the number of apprentices that will be requiring End Point Assessments. However, we are asking EPA Assessors to commit to a minimum of around 35 days per annum, if possible, which will include attendance at standardisation events.
Whilst some assessments will need to be conducted at employer or training provider premises, some of the work will be carried out remotely, which should make it easier for EPA Assessors to fit in their assessment work around other commitments. We are also appointing on a regional basis, which should minimise unnecessary travel time when carrying out on-site assessments.

In the case that there are no immediate suitable opportunities to match your particular experience, NOCN will keep applications received on file for 24 months until suitable vacancies arise.

NOCN Group is a Disability Confident Employer formally known as ‘Two Ticks’. This means that if you qualify as disabled under the Equality Act 2010 and you meet the minimum criteria outlined in the job specification, we guarantee you an interview.

Contract rate of pay

Please note, these are freelance contracted positions. The rate of pay will vary according to the nature of specific contracts, for example based upon the number of standards, sectors and levels.
