Paul’s first job was with the TUC education service which provided a route into a career with awarding organisations.

He started with the Open College Network in Sheffield in 1999 before joining NOCN in 2005 as Quality Assurance Manager. Paul completed an MSc in Management which supported his progression to NOCN Director of Quality.

He set up his own company in 2011 and, after a period working as Head of Qualifications for a professional scientific body, returned to a reformed NOCN as Head of Products in 2017.

He took up the post of Group Director (Awarding Organisation) in 2022.
