It’s Day Four of National Apprenticeship Week!
Posted 12 February 2026
Today for National Apprenticeship Week, we’re introducing our next Foundation Apprenticeship: Building Service Engineering.
In the video below, our Senior Product Developer, Miranda Chambers, explains what the Foundation Apprenticeship involves and the exciting pathways it can lead to.
Building service engineers play a vital role in keeping our buildings safe, efficient and sustainable. As specialists within the construction sector, their work includes low carbon heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pump engineering and plumbing systems. With the growing focus on sustainability and net zero, these skills are more important than ever.

Supporting Skills for Craft Painter and Decorator
We’re also highlighting the Level 3 Craft Painter and Decorator qualification.
Craft painters and decorators are highly skilled professionals working across new builds, refurbishments and even historic buildings. Their expertise ensures both the appearance and protection of internal and external surfaces, from residential homes to large commercial projects. This role includes:
- Painting, spraying and wallpapering
- Decorative finishes and sign writing
- Careful preparation, including working safely with hazardous materials
- Technical leadership and supervising others
- Managing client relationships and collaborating with architects, designers and other trades
With opportunities across the UK and internationally, this Level 3 qualification is a natural progression for learners who have achieved Level 2 and are ready to advance their career.
National Apprenticeship Week is all about showcasing the value, opportunity and progression that apprenticeships offer, and these pathways are excellent examples of that.
