Reformed apprenticeships. Five important policy questions
Posted 25 April 2016
For our final 'Top Five' in preparation for the Reformed Apprenticeships Workshop on Wednesday, here are five important questions for national policy, from Fiona Aldridge, Head of Apprenticeship Policy, Learning & Work Institute:
- How can we ensure quality as well as quantity?
- How can we widen access to apprenticeships for those currently underrepresented?
- How can we support the public sector to meet their apprenticeship target?
- How can we create effective routes into apprenticeships for young people and adults?
- What about developing skills for work, outside of the apprenticeship programme?
This scope of questions gets to the hub of the issues facing the apprenticeship programme. Alongside our previous two 'Top Five' posts from Graham and Sharon, this makes for a comprehensive review and assessment of reformed apprenticeships.
To hear it first hand in more detail and to get answers to questions and more, come to the workshop this Wednesday, 27 April
