As you are aware there have been policy and contractual changes in Wales in regard of vocational qualifications over the last few years which have impacted awarding organisations like NOCN. Accordingly, NOCN Board has reflected on how these have affected the demands for NOCN qualifications, in particular those for construction, and decided it is withdrawing its recognition with Qualifications Wales in a planned way. Discussions are underway with the regulator.

This does not mean we are withdrawing from Wales. NOCN will continue to provide in Wales NOCN products and services which are not regulated by Qualification Wales such as:

• Plant (CPCS) and scaffolding (CISRS) cards;
• Regulated qualifications, but these will be Ofqual registered for example NVQs or their replacements for adults;
• SiteRight and other courses; and
• Non-regulated credentialed provisions such as short courses, micro-credentials and CPD.

NOCN will be discussing with Qualifications Wales detailed transitional arrangements as well as timescales. These will be confirmed in due course.
