Which qualifications are being withdrawn?

The following Level 2 qualification in sector 5.2 Building and Construction is being withdrawn as from the 30th April 2026.

• 601/4992/9 NOCN Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Floorcovering Occupations (Construction)

How could the withdrawal affect learners?

No learners will be disadvantaged as learners will have until the 30th April 2029 to achieve certification of the above qualification.

What is the last date for registrations?

The last date for registrations for these qualifications listed will be 30th April 2026

Will the existing qualifications be extended beyond the operational end date for registrations?

NO, NOCN will not be extending the operational end date for the withdrawn qualifications after 30th April 2026

What is the last date for certifications?

The last date for certification for the withdrawn qualification will be 30th April 2029.

Are there replacement qualifications?

NOCN is withdrawing the qualification above from our offer. This is following notification from CITB after a recent review of the Level 2 qualification, units have now been releveled to Level 3 and Level 4, therefore the overall Level for the Floorcovering NVQ is now Level 3.

As from the 1st May 2026, NOCN will be offering the following replacement qualification:

NOCN Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Floorcovering Occupations (Construction) Ofqual Reference: 610/7104/3 with two pathways:

• Resilient /Textile
• Timber
