We are pleased to announce that NOCN has now developed the NOCN Level 3 End Point Assessment Craft Bricklayer v1.2 (610/6232/7) apprenticeship standard and can now start delivering End Point Assessments.

All of the documents associated with this standard are now live and can be found on the epaPRO platform for centres that have a contract on this standard.

The changes that have occurred in this version when compared to the previous include:

• Arch activity and brick cuts requirements updated.

The independent assessor must observe the following during the practical assessment:

‘The apprentice must cut a minimum of one voussoir and one haunch cut using hand tools and one voussoir and one haunch cut using a masonry cut off saw, remaining cuts may be prefabricated prior to the assessment’.

Preparation for the EPA:

‘Brick cuts excluding the mandatory cuts listed in the axed arch activity may be prefabricated prior to the assessment or cut by the apprentice on the day’.
