As part of our commitment to provide qualifications in line with industry requirements we regularly review and develop new qualifications across all occupations.

The following qualifications have been updated to reflect the Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) Guidelines 2025.

NOCN Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid (EFAW) 603/2447/8

NOCN Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (FAW) 603/2446/6

Following a review of the qualifications, we can confirm that no changes have been made to the learning outcomes or assessment criteria. All updates relate only to the scope of training and indicative content, ensuring alignment with the latest clinical guidance while maintaining the existing qualification structure. These updates are also reflected in accompanying resources.

As part of this review, NOCN has accommodated both the RCUK 2025 Guidelines and the recent HSE position statement, which confirmed that life-threatening bleeding management can be delivered within the 6 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) of the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.

Centres should ensure that delivery reflects the RCUK 2025 Guidelines and the updated scope of training from the next delivery cycle. Updated qualification specifications are now available on the NOCN website.
