As part of our commitment to provide qualifications in line with industry requirements we regularly review and develop new qualifications across all occupations.

NOCN has updated the qualification specifications for its First Aid qualifications to include additional guidance and quality assurance requirements relating to the delivery of blended learning programmes.

The revised guidance has been introduced in-line with the First Aid Quality Partnership to ensure that centres have clear expectations regarding the planning, delivery, assessment and quality assurance arrangements required when delivering qualifications through a blended learning approach, whilst maintaining compliance with regulatory and sector requirements.

The updated qualification specification now includes:

• Additional guidance on the requirements for blended learning delivery;
• Clarification of quality assurance expectations for centres delivering via a blended model;
• Stipulations in regard to in-person and blended qualification time.

Centres should no longer rely on previous versions of the qualification specification when implementing blended learning delivery arrangements.

The updated qualification specifications are effective immediately and apply to all new cohorts commencing delivery. Centres currently delivering programmes through a blended approach should review their existing arrangements to ensure they align with the revised guidance.
