We have been continuing to look at how we can make our service even better for all providers, apprentices, and employers. Thank you for your ongoing feedback, it has helped us make some great improvements to the platform.

Last year we rolled out Record and Review to a selection of qualifications & Apprenticeship standards.

Record & Review is a form of remote proctoring used during online assessments. Instead of having an invigilator watch the learner live, the system records the assessment session, including the learner’s screen, webcam, and audio, and the footage is later reviewed by trained human reviewers to confirm the assessment was taken correctly and securely. It allows assessments to be completed anywhere, at a convenient time, while still maintaining qualification integrity, preventing malpractice, and ensuring fairness for all learners.

Final phase .... NOCN is expanding the use of Record & Review remote proctoring across more of our Apprenticeship qualification suite to provide learners with greater flexibility, ensure consistent and secure assessment, and support centres with efficient, scalable delivery. This approach strengthens qualification integrity, enhances the learner experience, and gives employers greater confidence in the competence and capability of their workforce.

From the 31st August 2026, here is the list of standards that will be added to current list of Record and Review standards:

• Business Administrator V1.0
• Coaching Professional V1.0
• Laboratory Technician V1.2 & V1.3
• Lead Adult Care Worker V1.2
• Machining Technician V1.3, V1.4 & V1.5
• Pipe Welder V1.0, V1.1 & V1.2

We have supporting documents and guides for Apprentices and providers which are all available on Proficient and are also sent via email at the point of booking.
