Operational Update on NOCN Group Qualifications and Services

NOCN Group offers a wide range of services including regulated qualifications, EPA for apprenticeships, Job Cards in construction, Access to HE Diplomas, bespoke accreditation and educational and skills support training.

Working to support our valued customers

You will be aware of the various Government and World Health Organisation (WHO) announcements and official advice over COVID19.
The situation is unprecedented and has been continually changing. With colleges and schools now closed and the country in effect ‘locked down’, other than essential services, we will endeavour to continue to support you, your apprentices, learners and card applicants through this difficult period.

We support Ofqual’s statement that the most important principle is fairness to all learners and apprentices, not only for those being assessed now, but also for those assessed before COVID-19.

Centre Support

All our staff are working from home, so we are still offering front line support, through telephony, email and web chat as usual.
Certificates for regulated qualifications and cards are being issued to centres in the normal way.
We aim to provide as full a range of our services as possible, where these can be delivered remotely, and we can use remote or recorded assessment methods, whilst maintaining the integrity of the assessment.
All face-to-face appointments for approval visits, External Quality Assurers, and external assessments have been suspended until training centres reopen and normal business resumes.
We are providing digital on-line support, including offering WebEx interviews, developing online invigilated exams in place of physical papers, and digital content support.

Become an NOCN Centre

To deliver our qualifications you have to become an approved NOCN Centre. Complete the online enquiry form below and a member of our team will contact you to discuss your requirements. If recommended for approval you will go through a formal centre recognition process that may include a visit to your centre.

We have a transparent and competitive tariff and we do not charge VAT.

Useful information and resources for NOCN Centres

Quality Assurance

NOCN Recognised Centres must work to high quality standards and have effective quality management systems and processes in place to underpin delivery of NOCN units and qualifications.

Recognised Centres are monitored on a regular basis against the Centre Agreement, NOCN policies and procedures, and the requirements set out in the NOCN Centre Handbook.

Recognised Centres are required to have:

  • Robust assessment practices, Internal Quality Assurance and standardisation which support External Verification
  • Appropriate staffing, resources, management and administrative arrangements, polices and procedures

We also support centres in developing a Quality Assurance System which works for them and we can provide guidance and templates to help. Essentially we require centres to have a system which is appropriate for them, which meets NOCN requirements and that there is evidence that the system has been implemented effectively. NOCN also works with centres to identify opportunities for quality improvement in order to achieve Direct Claims Status.

By working closely with our centres to ensure high quality provision and robust Quality Assurance Systems, we add to the value and confidence of NOCN certificates.
