Heads of Construction to lead debate on transforming construction training at the BACH Conference

Heads of Construction from FE Colleges across the UK will meet for the British Association of Construction Heads (BACH) Annual Conference on 15-17 March to discuss key sector and skills challenges and opportunities in 2020 and beyond.

The event will focus on those delivering training and how they can support apprentices and learners, and ultimately the whole construction sector, by keeping on top of and understanding emerging trends, technologies and skills requirements.

NOCN Group is headline sponsor of the conference and Managing Director and current BACH President, Graham Hasting-Evans, will kick off the event with an overview of the industry and learning landscape, introducing the panel of esteemed speakers. Key themes of the conference include digital construction and off-site construction, innovation and technical advances, and the implementation of new Apprenticeship Standards and T-Levels.

Keynote speakers will be Mark Reynolds, CEO of Mace Group and Chair of the Construction Leadership Council’s Skills Group, who will shine a spotlight on the needs of the industry and the emerging ‘Single Skills Plan’, and David Hughes, CEO of the Association of Colleges, who will introduce the ‘Colleges of the Future’ programme. Other engaging speakers and panel sessions throughout the conference will explore the transformation of construction training, off-site infrastructure, and upcoming challenges for FE Colleges. The panel session will explore the use of new approaches including digital and DFMA.

Graham Hasting-Evans comments: “The BACH Conference is the opportunity for Heads of Construction from around the UK to get together, share best practice, hear from industry experts, network with peers and discuss the ever-evolving learning landscape. T-Levels and Apprenticeships will be a key theme this year and we have a fantastic line up of speakers and topics for what is set to be an inspiring and informative event.”
