On Thursday 17 January, members of the NOCN team attended the 2019 National Centre for Diversity (NCFD) Grand Awards in London.
NOCN was one of the two main event partners for a night dedicated to celebrating a joint commitment to fairness, respect, equality, diversity and inclusion, known as FREDIE.
NOCN’s Deputy Managing Director Jan Richardson-Wilde presented two awards, ‘Financial Services Company of the Year’, which was awarded to Leeds Building Society and ‘Technology Company of the Year’ which was awarded to Recite ME. NOCN works closely with both sectors to deliver Apprenticeship End Point Assessment and through the provision of technical and vocational qualifications.
Speaking about the event, Jan Richardson-Wilde said: “Diversity is central to NOCN’s brand and inclusivity is so important when it comes to creating opportunities through education. We are proud to partner with the National Centre for Diversity to bring this inspiring group of people together for this common cause.”
The evening featured 25 award categories and told many inspiring stories of the work that organisations and individuals are doing to ensure fairness for all.
NOCN was the first Awarding Organisation and Apprentice Assessment Organisation to be accredited as Leaders in Diversity by the National Centre for Diversity. The organisation is now ranked number 40 in the NCFD 2019 Top 100 Diversity Index, which celebrates the UK’s private, public and third sector employers setting the bar for fairness in the workplace.
