Assessment windows now open for Level 2 Construction Diplomas

Assessment windows are now open for NOCN Group's Level 2 Technical Occupational Entry Diplomas (TOES) in Construction, with centres continuing to benefit from a flexible assessment model designed to support delivery around the needs of their learners.
Centres can choose to assess mandatory units individually or through a synoptic assessment, alongside extended overlapping assessment windows that provide greater flexibility for planning, delivery and learner preparation.
These changes help ensure qualifications remain fair, robust and responsive to the needs of both learners and training providers. By offering longer assessment windows, centres have greater freedom to plan delivery effectively, provide learners with sufficient preparation time and reduce unnecessary assessment pressure. The choice between individual unit assessments and synoptic assessment also enables centres to select the approach that best suits their delivery model and learner cohort.
The flexible assessment model applies to mandatory units for the following qualifications:
Flexible Assessment Options
Centres can assess mandatory units either through individual unit assessments completed progressively throughout delivery or via a synoptic assessment taken at the end of the programme.
This flexibility allows centres to choose the approach that best fits their delivery model, whether that means building skills steadily through unit-by-unit assessment or assessing knowledge and skills holistically at the end of the programme. There is no requirement to offer both models; centres simply select the option that best meets their learners' needs.
Learners must complete either the individual or synoptic mandatory assessments, alongside the optional units required for their qualification.

Assessment windows are structured into longer, overlapping periods to provide centres with greater flexibility when planning delivery, preparing learners and accessing assessment materials.

This approach supports smoother delivery, reduces pressure on learners and helps ensure assessment evidence clearly demonstrates the assessment model used.
