New guide to UK’s education & skills offer to global partners published

The Education Sector Advisory Group (EASG), made up of a cross-section of organisations from the UK education sector, have produced a brochure to showcase how the UK can support governments around the world to enhance their education and skills systems.

The brochure, entitled ‘Strengthening education and skills systems: The UK’s offer to global partners’, identifies collaborative solutions to meet the specific needs of international partners and provides:
• A high-level overview of the work that each level of the UK education and skills system engages in internationally.
• A comprehensive outline of the specific services and support the UK can offer to international partners at each level of education.
• Clear signposts to the organisations that can help international partners connect with UK education and skills sector.

It covers the full spectrum of the education system from early years to technical vocational training and includes sections on special educational needs and disabilities services.

As a UK-founded education charity which offers its skills solutions (including Ofqual regulated qualifications, Apprenticeship end point assessment, short courses, and competency-based jobs cards) to international markets including India and The Gulf, NOCN Group supports this new initiative to promote the UK’s global offer.

NOCN Group’s chief executive Graham Hasting-Evans, says:

“The UK is a global leader in education & skills, drawing on both our rich history and current innovative approach to create a skills system that seeks to boost productivity, promote economic growth, increase social mobility and inclusivity, and improve personal development and outcomes. We are now living in a global society and a global economy with an ever-evolving skills and jobs market driven by rapid advances in technology and only by working together to share our knowledge and expertise can we create a global skills system fit for the future.”

The new brochure draws on a 2019 report published by the UK government entitled ‘International Education Strategy (IES): global potential, global growth’ which set out a cohesive approach to supporting the global activities of the education sector.

UK Skills Partnership is a collective representing the technical and vocational education and training sector of the United Kingdom. The brochure can be downloaded from its website here.
