NIOSH and NOCN Group Agreement to widen recognition of Malaysian Vocational Training.

NIOSH, the National Institute of Occupational Health and Safety in Malaysia, and NOCN Group have reached an agreement to work together to raise the recognition and status of safety and construction training delivered by NIOSH.

The objectives of this agreement are to gain wider recognition for the NIOSH training by linking to the international brand of NOCN Group.

The organisations will work in collaboration to introduce new qualifications and services to the region and open new employment options for NIOSH qualified workers.

By equipping the workforce with internationally recognised qualifications, this project will increase the competitiveness of Malaysian construction, oil and gas and related businesses in a competitive global market.

NIOSH and NOCN will also work together to introduce ‘Green and Low Carbon’ training programmes and qualifications relating to improving sustainability in construction, the solar power sector, and energy efficiency.

As part of this agreement, NIOSH will become an ‘NOCN Approved’ training organisation in Malaysia, approved to deliver endorsed programmes and a range of NOCN's construction qualifications and training programmes.

The first piece of work in this collaboration is the review and endorsement of NIOSH training programmes by NOCN. This process will give wider international recognition to NIOSH training, and create greater opportunities for skilled Malaysian workers and businesses.

This agreement was signed on 15th March between YB Datuk Wilson Ugak Anak Kumbong Chairman of NIOSH and Mr Timothy Dawkins, Head of International Business for NOCN Group, and witnessed by Mr David Thomas British Deputy High Commissioner.
