NOCN Group Chair Simon Perryman Awarded OBE in King's Birthday Honours

NOCN Group is delighted to congratulate Chair of the Board, Simon Perryman, on being awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the King's Birthday Honours List for services to Further Education.

The award recognises Simon's contribution to education and skills over many years. Throughout his career, he has championed the role of Further Education in helping people develop the skills, confidence and opportunities they need to succeed.

Alongside his role as Chair of NOCN Group, Simon has held a number of senior positions across the Further Education and skills sector. He served as Chair of Governors at Barnsley College, was appointed as a National Leader of Governance supporting colleges across England, and held senior leadership roles at the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES). He has also supported governance and leadership development through his work with the Association of Colleges.

Commenting on the award, Simon said:

"I am honoured to receive this recognition and grateful to the many colleagues, learners, employers and partners I have worked with throughout my career.

Further Education has the power to change lives, create opportunities and support communities. I have been fortunate to work alongside people who are passionate about helping others succeed, and I see this award as recognition of their contribution as much as my own."

Graham Hasting-Evans, Chief Executive of NOCN Group, said:

"I am delighted to see Simon recognised in the King's Birthday Honours. This award reflects the significant contribution he has made to Further Education and skills over many years, both through his work with colleges and his wider involvement across the sector.

Simon brings a huge amount of experience, knowledge and perspective to NOCN Group, and we have all benefited from his leadership as Chair of the Board. On behalf of everyone at NOCN Group, I would like to offer him our sincere congratulations on this fantastic achievement."

Since becoming Chair, Simon has played an important role in supporting NOCN Group's growth and development, helping to shape the organisation's work with learners, employers, training providers and partners across the UK and internationally.

Everyone at NOCN Group joins in congratulating Simon on this well-deserved recognition.
