NOCN provides ESOL International English assessment and testing in Greece, helping thousands of individuals to improve their skills. In the 2021 summer assessment period 15,226 ESOL assessments were taken.
ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) assessments enables leaners to improve their skills in the dominant language for business and hospitality that is essential to so many careers.
Working with their partner Global Awards and Panhellenic Federation of Language Schools Owners (PALSO), NOCN have successfully ran ESOL International examinations in a wide range of locations in Greece, the Greek Islands and Cyprus since 2014.
The pandemic created many challenges as many of the assessments are paper based and delivered in classroom sessions. NOCN worked closely with Global Awards to provide additional support and training for staff and partner organisations, developing innovative online solutions for the delivery of the assessments and remote invigilation which reduces the marking and processing time by up to 75%.
Graham Hasting Evans said “The numbers have steadily grown since 2014 but to be able to deliver over 15,000 assessments in a single assessment period during a global pandemic is incredible. It is testament to the partnership with Global Awards and the commitment of all the staff involved.”
