Our collaboration with NOCN, one of the UK's largest awarding organisations, is a first in our industry!

The relationship will centre on strengthening knowledge acquisition whilst focusing on theory-driven practical expertise, learner competence and verification of NVQ level 2 and 3 applications.
NOCN is a top ten Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation, offering hundreds of qualifications in many sectors, from Entry Level to Level 7. In 2017, NOCN acquired CSkills from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), becoming one of the largest UK construction Awarding Organisations.

NOCN Group is an educational charity whose core aims are to help learners reach their potential and for organisations to thrive. The group includes business units specialising in regulated UK and international qualifications, End Point Assessment, Access to Higher Education, assured short courses, SMART job cards, assessment services, consultancy, and research.

NACE and NOCN believe passionately in the power of learning and education, its impact on public safety, and service provider competence in the workplace. We want more people to engage in education, short-term apprenticeships, and skills training. This will aid in the understanding and importance of theory and practical activities as an essential, sustainable, strong partnership that can only benefit those willing to aspire to this level of excellence.

NACE CEO Howard Cane commented;

"After many years supporting NACE in the role of an awarding organisation NOCN has formally partnered with us in the role of facilitator. NACE will provide access to its technical knowledge base and case evidence history with expert support for NOCN EQA's and other line management; NOCN will provide assistance and support in helping to deliver and verify theory, as well as practical skill set excellence at the candidate application stage. With a choice of forty-five joint NACE/NOCN formally recognised 'Quality Mark' chimney skill modules and environmental training courses for local authorities on offer covering many related subjects otherwise unavailable elsewhere, it is hoped that interest from service providers wanting formal certificated recognition will be high.

Our training partner, the LSTA will be helping NACE to deliver all endorsed 'Quality Mark' chimney skill modules and courses throughout their network of UK training establishments."

Graham Hasting-Evans, Chief Executive of NOCN Group, commented
"We are delighted to have the support and engagement from NACE in developing programmes, qualifications and assessments that meet the needs of the UK and ensure safety for constructors, maintainers and the public."
