Wild Geese Group Offshore Academy, based in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, is a unique training institution, operating in the oil and gas and emergency response sector. Their team hold vast experience of working in oil and gas operations around the world.

The Wild Geese Group Offshore Academy have been an Approved NOCN International Training Centre for 2 years, and work with NOCN Group to endorse their emergency response training programmes.

Wild Geese Group have developed their own Diploma Level 4 In Fire Safety Managed Emergency Response (FSMER) which is endorsed, and quality assured by NOCN in NOCN’s capacity as an Ofqual recognised Awarding Organisation.

This program comprises of; critical skills, behavioural qualities and attributes that are mandatory to train personnel capable of implementing the essential roles of Incident Command & Emergency Response. The training program complies with the International Incident Command System principles and techniques currently in use in high-risk industries.

This innovative new training programme has recently been delivered to Officers and Fire fighters at the Seri Manjung Fire Station in Lumut Malaysia, the first time it has been delivered outside the oil and gas sector. Importantly, the program offers students to be rewarded with ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’ for qualifications and experience already achieved through years of commitment to Emergency Response in profession, while ‘topping up’ and broadening their knowledge and skills.

Mike Herrmann, President of the Offshore Academy at Wild Geese Group stated, “We’re delighted to be working with the Fire Service in Lumut, in this area the Officers have to deal with a wide range of possible emergency situations, and they have extensive experience of dealing with real emergencies. Through this training programme it’s great to be able to recognise these skills and contribute to their knowledge of emergency response. Our commitment is to support our first responders by offering an accessible opportunity to achieve ‘Real World Diplomas and Degrees for Real World People’.

NOCN’s Head of International Business, Tim Dawkins, attended the graduation ceremony at the Fire Station and passed out the Certificates to the Fire Fighters before having a tour of the Station. “NOCN is very proud to be a part of this project and we hope that this is the first of many cohorts of fire fighters trained and assessed against this valuable training programme in Malaysia” commented Mr. Dawkins.
