A Project Controls Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of engineering, manufacturing, construction, and infrastructure projects. They analyse and monitor progress and performance data, using advanced software tools to track progress, forecast trends, and identify potential issues.
Their work involves tasks such as setting baseline targets, modelling deviations, assessing design and construction changes, and recommending preventative and corrective actions. This apprenticeship provides a solid foundation in key disciplines, including estimating, planning, scheduling, and cost engineering, leading to roles such as project controller, estimator, planner, scheduler, and cost engineer.
