Plate Welders are skilled professionals responsible for manually welding plate and structural components in a variety of industries, including construction, marine, defense, aerospace, and manufacturing.

They work with a range of materials such as steel, aluminum, titanium, and copper, using multiple welding processes, including TIG, MIG, MMA, and FCAW. Plate welders are integral to fabricating, constructing, or repairing large infrastructure projects and defense assets. 

This version of the Plate Welder apprenticeship standard has been ended by IfATE but we are still taking contracts on this version. If you have any apprentices that are on this version then please contact us as we can still accommodate your apprentices.
