Fitters in the manufacturing and process sectors produce complex, high-value, low-volume components or assemblies, such as turbines, cranes, and gearboxes. They interpret drawings, plan their work, and ensure quality standards are met.

Fitters may specialize in mechanical, electrical, electronic, control systems, pipe fitting, or instrumentation. They work in workshops or client premises, including hazardous environments, and interact with various personnel to complete tasks to required specifications and deadlines with minimal supervision.

This version of the Engineering Fitter apprenticeship standard has been ended by IfATE but we are still taking contracts on this version. If you have any apprentices that are on this version then please contact us as we can still accommodate your apprentices.
