Engineering Operatives are essential to the success of the manufacturing and engineering sector, performing a range of operations that ensure machines and equipment are maintained, functional, and able to meet production needs.

Their work includes tasks such as machine operation (CNC and conventional), repairing and assembling tools and equipment, fabrication, and providing technical support.

Engineering Operatives can work independently or as part of a team, and their skills are transferable across various sectors of the manufacturing and engineering industries, with roles such as machine setter, fabricator, and mechanical engineering operative commonly covered within this standard.
