Pipe Welders play a vital role across industries requiring high-integrity piping systems, including construction, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, power generation, food production, water treatment, and transportation. Using advanced welding techniques like TIG, MIG, MMA, and PAW, they manually weld pipes from a variety of materials—such as carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium—to meet stringent safety and quality standards.
Pipe Welders work on critical infrastructure projects in demanding environments, ensuring pipe systems maintain integrity for transporting high-temperature, cryogenic, corrosive, or hygienic fluids. Their precision and expertise are essential to the safe, reliable operation of piping systems worldwide, from fabrication workshops and marine vessels to power plants and oil rigs.
This version of the Pipe Welder apprenticeship standard has been ended by IfATE but we are still taking contracts on this version. If you have any apprentices that are on this version then please contact us as we can still accommodate your apprentices.
