Machining Technicians play a key role in the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (AME) sector, producing precision components for industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, Maritime Defence, Nuclear, and Construction. Using both conventional and Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machines, they create complex parts from metals or specialist materials for applications ranging from vehicles and aircraft to medical devices and domestic appliances.
Machining Technicians interpret technical information, set up and operate machinery, inspect finished components, and contribute to continuous improvement activities, ensuring all work meets strict quality and safety standards. They work in manufacturing environments, often as part of cross-functional teams, while adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Documents will be available to Centres from March 2025.
