The Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 apprenticeship covers seven roles: electrical technician, mechanical technician, control and instrumentation technician, wind turbine technician, electrical system and process control technician, electromechanical technician, and plant operations technician. Technicians in these roles maintain the safety, integrity, and effective operation of plant and equipment across various industries, including electricity generation, telecommunications, oil and gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and more.
They perform tasks such as installation, testing, servicing, maintenance, repair, and decommissioning of equipment.
Technicians are responsible for ensuring their own work, and possibly others', meets safety, quality, time, and budget requirements, while maintaining efficient plant operation.
