Foundation apprenticeships are designed to support young people in taking their first step into the world of work. They are new programmes that provide entry into your sector, combining paid employment with structured training.
Learners are employed and earn a wage while working towards recognised qualifications that prepare them for progression into further apprenticeships or sustained employment. These apprenticeships have been developed in collaboration with employers, ensuring that the training delivered aligns closely with genuine business needs.
Foundation apprenticeships are particularly well suited to individuals who are ready to begin their career journey but would benefit from additional practical experience and workplace exposure before progressing to a higher-level apprenticeship or full-time role.
We offer a range of Ofqual-regulated qualifications and units, developed by industry experts, to support the effective on-programme delivery of foundation apprenticeships.
Completion of a foundation apprenticeship will certify achievement of all the technical knowledge and skills, together with all the employability skills and behaviours described. The typical progression routes will likely include employment or progression onto another skills product such as a level 2 or level 3 apprenticeship.
