International education charity NOCN Group's Competence Cards & Tests are designed to help get skilled people to work, giving employers, customers and wider society reassurance that the person undertaking the occupation has the relevant knowledge, competencies and skills for the job.

As well as issuing ‘smart’ cards (both physical and digital), NOCN Group brings its years of experience as an Awarding and Assessment Organisation to the design and delivery of complementary training and testing of cardholders, improving access to formal, high quality on-the-job learning & development, and setting industry standards of best practice.

In 2019, NOCN Group acquired the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS), from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), making it the second largest issuer of smart job cards to the UK construction industry. The continuous improvement of this scheme has included major digital innovations which have significantly increased accessibility, productivity, and safety.

NOCN Group has also been responsible for providing scheme administration services to the Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS), since CITB withdrew from this role in 2020.
