Inspire the Sector: NOCN Group and AELP webinar series

As part of our partnership with AELP, NOCN Group is sponsoring a series of free webinars exploring some of the key issues shaping skills, training and workforce development. Catch up on previous sessions and find out what’s coming next.

The skills landscape continues to evolve, bringing new challenges and opportunities for training providers, employers and the wider sector.

As part of our partnership with AELP, NOCN Group is sponsoring three free webinars designed to explore some of these changes and what they mean in practice. Across the series, our experts will share their knowledge and experience on issues affecting different areas of education, skills and training, with a focus on the practical implications for organisations and learners.

From changing competence requirements in construction to re-engaging learners through Life Skills and employability, each webinar provides an opportunity to look more closely at an important area of the sector and consider how provision can respond.

Catch up on our previous webinar below and find details of the next session in the series.

How the Building Safety Act will affect Qualifications & Training

The Building Safety Act is changing expectations around competence across the construction industry, with implications for qualifications, apprenticeships and wider training provision.

In the first webinar in our series with AELP, we explored how these changes are influencing construction education and training, including the development of Routes to Competence and what these requirements could mean for learners already working in the industry as well as those preparing to enter it.

The session considered the impact on apprenticeships, NVQs, training qualifications and assured courses, helping providers understand how training and learner journeys may need to evolve as the Building Safety Act continues to be implemented.

Coming next: Re-engaging Learners Through Life Skills and Employability

12th October | 2:00 to 3:00pm | Free to attend

Supporting people towards employment often requires more than developing job-search skills. Confidence, communication, digital capability and personal development can all influence whether a learner engages, progresses and feels ready to take their next step.

Our next webinar with AELP will explore practical approaches to re-engaging learners and creating achievable pathways towards further learning and employment.

Led by Tracey Patmore, Head of Products at NOCN Group, the session will consider changing learner needs, the national and devolved skills landscape and some of the wider barriers affecting participation and progression. Tracey will also look at how flexible qualifications, shorter learning opportunities and supporting resources can work together to help learners build confidence and skills at a pace that works for them.

The webinar will be particularly relevant to training providers, colleges, adult and community learning providers, employability organisations and others supporting learners with personal development, skills and progression.
