Coronavirus update for customers

As you will be aware the government imposed a third national lockdown from Tuesday 5th January 2021. You will find out more operational detail on the implications for each of these services through the following links:

Update 29th March 2021

On 24th March, Ofqual published the VTQ Contingency Regulatory Framework (VCRF) which allows NOCN to provide centres with awarding arrangements for learners who have had their training and assessment disrupted in 2021. The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations -Shopfitting Bench Work qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification. This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as a Shopfitter within the construction industry. You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area. You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you complete your qualification. This qualification supports the learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge. This qualification can be taken as part of an apprenticeship framework, if desired. This qualification sits within the Construction Apprenticeship Framework in England and Wales. The learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in these mandatory units -Producing Setting Out Details for Routine Shopfitting Products in the Workplace -Marking Out from Setting Out Details for Routine Shopfitting Products in the Workplace -Manufacturing Routine Shopfitting Products in the Workplace -Confirming Work Activities and Resources for an Occupational Work Area in the Workplace -Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace -Confirming the Occupational Method of Work in the Workplace -Manufacturing Bespoke Shopfitting Products in the Workplace -Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace The learner will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in one of the following optional units: -Producing CAD Setting Out Details in the Workplace -Producing Wood and Wood-based Products Using Computer Numerically Controlled/Numerically Controlled (CNC/NC) Machinery in the Workplace -Setting Up and Using Fixed Machinery in the Workplace -Producing Setting Out Details for Bespoke Shopfitting Products in the Workplace.

Description: To achieve this qualification a minimum of 121 credits need to be attained. 101 credits must be achieved from the Mandatory Group and a minimum of 20 credits from the Optional Group.
