This qualification is vocationally based and as such, offers the opportunity for learners to demonstrate an achievement of practical skills, understanding and knowledge in the workplace. They will gain insight on how to comply with statutory regulations and safety requirements as well as how to contribute to effective team working. Learners will demonstrate competence in a range of generic area dependant on the pathway chosen.
Under Process Improvement this could include contributing to the analysis and selection of parts, carrying out lead time analysis and the creation of standard operating procedures as well as carrying out autonomous maintenance. Within the Quality Improvement pathway they could be contributing to the application of six sigma methodology and process mapping to a project, the application of basic statistical analysis or carrying out mistake/error proofing Poka Yoke.
The qualification will confirm occupational competence and/or ‘licence to practice’
This qualification is for learners who wish to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in business improvement techniques whilst working or looking to work within the engineering or manufacturing sector.
