This qualification is vocationally-based and as such, offers the opportunity for learners to demonstrate achievement of knowledge, understanding and practical skills in one of a variety of roles in the healthcare support environment, for example, in Adult Nursing Support, Maternity Support and Physiotherapy Support.

This qualification is a mandatory requirement for the Apprenticeship Standard for a Senior Healthcare Support Worker (SHCSW).

This qualification is for learners who would like to work in one of many Healthcare Support roles, or who is starting the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship.

This qualification has been developed in response to the government’s policy on reformed apprenticeships. The Sector Skills Council -Skills for Health has consulted with employers, regulators and those who use services to ensure that the content of the qualification is suitable for a Senior Healthcare Support Worker (SHCSW.)

Min Credits : 65

Description: The learner must achieve a minimum of 65 credits. 45 credits must be achieved from the 15 components in Mandatory Group A. 20 credits must be achieved from any combination of components in Optional Group B. A minimum of 37 credits overall must be at level 3 or above.
