This qualification is based on the Department for Education’s National standards for essential digital skills. They support learners to develop the digital skills needed to participate in a digital society, in everyday life and at work. Within the DfE’s National standards for essential digital skills document the ‘foundation skills’ for undertaking Essential Digital Skills qualifications are set out. NOCN recognises that many learners lack even these foundation skills and therefore the purpose of this qualification is to ensure learners have the basic digital skills required to progress.
