The NOCN Level 1 Award in Waste and Recycling is a vocational knowledge-based qualification and, as such, offers the opportunity for learners to demonstrate achievement of the basic knowledge and understanding of waste and recycling activities.
This qualification will prepare learners with the knowledge to enter employment in the waste and recycling industry in roles such as:
• Waste/recycling site operative
• Household waste recycling operative
• Transfer station operative
• Manual/mechanical street cleaner
• Compost operative
• Waste/recycling collection driver
This qualification has been developed with sector employers and representative organisations and is supported by LARAC. It supports the increasing demand for skills linked to green occupations, contributing to UK Government targets to meet net zero by 2050.
