Aim
The aim of this unit is to illustrate the skills, knowledge and understanding required to confirm competence in Manufacturing routine architectural joinery products in the workplace within the relevant sector of industry.


Assessment guidance and/or requirements

Assessors for this unit must have verifiable, current industry experience and a sufficient depth of relevant occupational expertise and knowledge, and must use a combination of assessment methods as defined in the Consolidated Assessment Strategy.
Workplace evidence of skills cannot be simulated.
One of the following Groups Endorsement required :
Architectural Joinery group,
two items from the following:
Doors
Windows with opening lights
Units and/or fitments
panelling and cladding
Staircases.
Wheelwrighting group (carriage construction):
Endorsement:
wheels (including butt welding rim)
plus one item from the following:
Doors
Wooden framed vehicles
Shafts.

Shopfitting products group (timber and/or timber based products and/or composite materials and/or metal),
two items from the following:
Doors
Frames and linings
Shopfront sashes
Panelling and cladding
Units and fitments.
