Aim
The aim of this unit is to provide the learner with the skills to:
• prepare decking for built-up bituminous roofing in accordance with the current health and safety and building regulations in:
• new roof projects
• refurbishment/renewal projects.
The skills developed by the learner will include the use of:
• spirit level and straight edge
• hand tools for cleaning of roof decks
• gas torches where allowed
• preparing of roof decks, including: plywood and particle board decks, timber decks, cementitous deck and metal decks.
