Aim
The aim of this unit is to provide the learner with the knowledge to:
• identify, select and install weathering membranes and units to manufacturers’ instructions:
– LSA (Lead Sheet Association)
– BS 5534 and BS 8000-6 for roofing installation requirements.
The knowledge acquired by the learner will enable them to understand:
• how weathering forms an important completion to any roof covering
• the importance of sidelap, headlap and water movement of weather to roof finishes.
