Aim

The aim of this unit is to provide learners with the knowledge to be able to understand the needs of people with a learning disability and autism, including how to meet their communication and information needs and the reasonable adjustments which may be needed in line with legal frameworks.

Assessment guidance and/or requirements

Assessment of this unit will be through the completion of a mandatory portfolio of evidence.
Any knowledge evidence integral to skills-based learning outcomes may be generated outside of the work environment, but the final assessment decision must show application of knowledge within the real work environment
