Aim
This unit is about hiring goods, equipment, vehicles or services to people in face-to-face settings which means that you will need to be able to communicate well in that type of setting. It involves establishing the necessary rapport with customers and maintaining goodwill with them even when you are unable to supply them with the goods or services they require. You need to show that you find out from the customer what their hire needs are and respond appropriately. You need to show you help customers to choose the right product when they don’t already have a specific product in mind. You also need to show that you respond appropriately to more knowledgeable customers who know what they need. You are expected to respond to queries
and objections and offer information about products. You also need to close the hire transaction and complete the contract documentation.
