Aim

This unit is about the ability to use a software application designed to create, modify and layout artwork for display in print or on a screen.

The learner will select and use a range of intermediate design application tools and techniques to produce at times non-routine or unfamiliar designs. They will create, manipulate, obtain, insert, and optimise designs in line with requirements.

Assessment guidance and/or requirements

The nature of the task should be unfamiliar and the tools and techniques used by the learner should be selected by them. The learner should take some responsibility for developing the type or structure of the document.
LO 1 and LO 2 Designs should ‘meet requirements’. Requirements could be set out by internal/external customers or be the requirements of the task as set by the tutor/assessor.
