Aim
The aim of this unit is to illustrate the skills, knowledge and understanding required to confirm competence in erecting steel frame walls, floors and roofs in the workplace in the workplace within the relevant sector of industry.


Assessment guidance and/or requirements

Assessors for this unit must have verifiable, current industry experience and a sufficient depth of relevant occupational expertise and knowledge, and must use a combination of assessment methods as defined in the Consolidated Assessment Strategy.
Workplace evidence of skills cannot be simulated.
This unit must be assessed against at least SIX of the following endorsements:
– ring beams
– load bearing walls - pre-manufactured
– load bearing walls - in situ
- non-load bearing walls - prefabricated
- non-load bearing walls - in situ
– lattice beams
- C section joists
– intermediate floors - pre-manufactured
– intermediate floors - in situ
– floor decking units
– composite decking units
– hot rolled columns and beams
– roof structures - pre-manufactured
- roof structures - in situ.
