An apprenticeship in construction follows a pattern of vocational training to meet the requirements of a ConstructionSkills' approved framework. This enables apprentices to develop skills and knowledge which they can then demonstrate and evidence in a real construction environment.

Example job role:

Work Supervisor - working on a construction site or in domestic and commercial premises, co-ordinating and organising work operations, managing work activities, confirming the occupational method of work, managing health and safety and developing good working relationships.

Functional Skills:

Apprentices may need to provide evidence of their achievement of transferable skills in English and Mathematics in order to be awarded the Apprenticeship. If the apprentice does not already have suitable qualifications, the following Functional Skills qualifications can be taken:

  • NOCN Functional Skills qualification in English at Level 2 - (500/9469/5)
  • NOCN Functional Skills qualification in Mathematics at Level 2 - (501/1158/9)
