NOCN EPA Adult Care Worker

This NOCN EPA will assess the competency of an Adult Care Worker apprentice against the Skills, Knowledge and Behaviors specified in the Standard.

Introduction

Working in care makes a real difference to someone’s life. Adult Care Workers are front-line staff who help adults with care and support needs. Care workers take appropriate action to support individuals to maintain their independence, dignity and control. People who work in Adult Care feel passionate about supporting and enabling others to live a more independent life and fulfilling life. Care workers are employed in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres, a person’s own home or clinical healthcare settings. This Apprenticeship provides an ideal entry into the occupation and supports progression within the sector, leading to excellent career opportunities such as a Lead Adult Care Worker.

Entry requirements

Individual employers set their selection criteria and the suitable entry requirements for the correct level of the Apprentice. Apprentices are required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and provide the result prior to starting - the Training Provider selected by the employer can provide further information.
