This NOCN EPA will assess the competency of an Senior Financial Services Customer Adviser apprentice against the Skills, Knowledge and Behaviors specified in the Standard.

Introduction

The Senior Financial Services Customer Adviser standard is designed for Banks and Building Societies with wider application across the Financial Services sector, including life insurers. This apprenticeship contains an option for those apprentices that manage a team as part of their role. Working in this position, there are a number of front line roles that deal with customers and require a high level of technical knowledge and skills across a range of products. These may happen in a branch, on the phone, over the internet or social media or an operations centre that supports other areas. They may deal with individuals, businesses or a small portfolio of accounts.

In addition, depending on which future qualifications are taken, the Standard puts the apprentice on the road towards professional membership of: the Chartered Banker Institute, the Institute of Financial Services, the Chartered Insurance Institute. This apprenticeship supports progression in the sector, leading to excellent career opportunities such as becoming a specialist in complaints or continuing in a service role.

Entry Requirements

Individual employers set their selection criteria. Nationally, apprenticeships require as a minimum, English and maths understanding and functional application at Level 2, enabling apprentices to aspire to the next level. Employers will set the entry specification suitable for the correct level of the individual.
